March 8, 2023: Happy Women’s Day with the “Let’s Point the Heels” Exhibition & Performance

The Curator of the Museum of Archaeology, Anna Letizia Magrassi Matricardi, has contributed to the preparation of the temporary exhibition “Let’s Point the Heels” which will be on display until Sunday, March 12, 2023 in the Statues Courtyard of the University’s Central Building.

The initiative is supported by the Single Guarantee Committee of the University of Pavia and includes a selection of the works participating in the last two editions of the “Let’s Point Heels” competition.

The contest stems from the desire to induce reflection on the theme of violence against women on the occasion of November 25, less in the physical sense yet more in the subtle psychological/moral sense and the possible regaining of denied freedom. The entire academic community (female students, female researchers, technical-administrative staff and teaching staff, …) are able to participate through textual and multimedia works (poems, stories, videos, photos, paintings, …). The free temporary exhibition will be placed in the Statue Courtyard of the Pavia Athenaeum from March 6 to 12, 2023, which can be visited during the opening hours of the University’s Central Building. The exhibition will be accompanied by a performance by the students of the Self-Managed Theater Collective and the Fraschini School of Theater with the accompany of cellist Eleonora Fullone on Wednesday, March 8 at 5 p.m.
