On Wednesday 25 September 2019, 7-9 p.m., the Museum of Archaeology inaugurates a new museum space: the Loggetta Sforzesca, with a permanent exhibition of Renaissance terracotta artefacts. A large collection of decorative architectural clay elements from various 15th-century buildings in Pavia, which until now have been kept in the museum’s storeroom, will now be open to the public. Students from Pavia’s high schools have collaborated on the study and preparation of the exhibits as part of various school-to-work projects. The Loggetta overlooks the Sforzesco Courtyard in the University’s central building in Corso Strada Nuova 65 in Pavia and can be reached from the Magnolia Courtyard on the first floor, with the entrance c/o the Art History Library.
The evening will be enlivened by the musical performance of guitarist Luca Cabella of the Conservatorio Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali “Franco Vittadini” in Pavia.
The event is part of the European Researchers’ Night 2019 programme Sharper_PAVIA-programma-2019
